B1A4(비원에이포)의 멤버 공찬이 23일 오전 신장 적출 수술을 받은 사실이 알려졌다.
B1A4 소속사 WM엔터테인먼트 측은 
"공찬이 오늘 신장 적출 수술을 받았다", "공찬이 '잘자요 굿나잇' 활동 당시 공찬이 옆구리 통증을 호소해 병원에서 정밀 진단을 받고 선천적으로 신장이 좋지 않다는 사실을 알았다"며 "음반 활동을 끝까지 마치고 수술을 받겠다는 본인 의지가 강해 수술을 미뤄왔다"고 밝혔다.

그리고 소속사측은 "공찬은 통증이 있을 때마다 진통제를 맞아가며 활동을 강행했으며, B1A4 멤버들과 팬들을 생각해 늘 밝은 얼굴로 아픈 티조차 내지 않았다"고 전했다.
공찬 담당의사는 "공찬의 진단명은 선천성 신우요관협착증으로 한쪽 신장이 완전히 제 기능을 하지 못해 적출 수술을 결정했다"고 말했다. 현재 공찬은 수술을 무사히 마치고 회복 중에 있으며 일주일가량 병원에 입원해 안정을 취할 예정이고,퇴원 후에는 모든 정상적인 일상생활이 가능하나 당분간 무리한 활동은 피할 예정이라고 소속사측은 전했다.
한편 B1A4는 음반 활동 마무리 후 산들 뮤지컬, 바로의 라디오 고정 등으로 활발한 개인 활동을 펼치고 있으며, 오는 25일부터는 KBS JOY 'B1A4의 헬로 베이비'를 통해 색다른 모습을 보여줄 예정이다.
